Bio and CV

Nick Hackett is a Melbourne based blacksmith artist. Nick moved to Melbourne in 1989 having completed undergraduate studies in metalsmithing at UTAS School of Art, Launceston, returning to complete post graduate studies in 1994. 
Since 1990 he and his partner Mary have operated NMH Metalworks, an art based metalwork business concentrating on furniture, decorative architectural ironwork and public art commissions. Clientele include private individuals, businesses, corporations and local government 
In 2014 Nick completed a Master of Arts, Art in Public Space at RMIT University and was placed on the  Vice Chancellors list for Academic Excellence . 

His research project “Unmaking” now forms the basis of his parallel contemporary art practice.
